    Description

I got tired of hot gluing popsicle sticks into the foundation grooves so I built a mold to make starter strips that simply press into the groove sans glue. They have little buttons on the tabs to hold them in place in any 3/16" grooved top bar, they fit other frames as well as the ones I make. They are made from food grade HIPS and look like new drawn comb so maybe they will trick the ladies. They come in packs of 100
, the cell size is 5.2mm
and are non waxed. Made in U.S.A. at my friend's factory in Anaheim California. UPDATE: Here are some pics of the swarm I got Feb 26, they have already half filled all the frames in nuc, I used 3 waxed starter strips and wired each one. They have taken well to strips, last pic is from another hive, that frame isn't wired.
Wood cross bars and plastic ends for illustration purposes only NOT INCLUDED.
Taking America back one product at a time. Spehar products, imagination + unfair advantage
We received this unsolicited message March 26, 2020 from Colleen S. "
I wanted to show you a couple of pictures I took today from a couple of my beehives. I went with 3 starter strips and used fishing line for the horizontal wires. I put one frame in each of 4 hives about a week ago. Did a peek today and they all were building on them. All of them were building Drone comb in them and were quite happy doing it.
Thank you again for the neat product. My bees took to the starter strips like a duck on a June bug!
    Best Regards,
    Colleen"
We apologize for the price increase, the company that originally did our molding closed and the new company charges us over 4 times, either we pass on the increase or discontinue the item. At least it is not as bad as how much plywood went up.
